An Update From Pastor Nicole:
Session met and passed these important resolutions unanimously:
Motion: to suspend the FPC Dallas Center face-to-face worship to online only, until the COVID19 numbers reduce to an acceptable number as deemed by the Session. Effective immediately.
Motion: to suspend all in-person group activities and rentals at FPC Dallas Center, effective immediately, until the COVID19 numbers reduce to an acceptable number as deemed by the Session.
The elders carefully weighed the values of individual choice and social/moral responsibility, both of which are important. They also considered the quick surge in COVID numbers in both Dallas and Polk counties over the past week, members of our church who have been affected/exposed, as well as the move back to virtual online learning by DCG schools. Out of care and concern for our members, our community, health care and essential workers, and our health care system, they decided that the moral responsibility of the church to the larger society was the overriding factor at this time.
This was a very difficult decision for the elders to make, but they feel it is the right decision given the exponential spread of the coronavirus at this time. We will return to our in-person activities as soon as possible. In the meantime, we will continue to offer worship online. Services will continue to be live streamed on our Facebook page and then will be posted to our YouTube page.
Thank you for your understanding as together we seek to faithfully navigate these unprecedented circumstances.
